Rya Kaplan, M.D.

Dr. Rya Kaplan is a board-certified Gastroenterologist who brings over 17 years of experience to provide high quality comprehensive gastrointestinal care to her patients. She values explaining gastrointestinal diseases, treatments and procedures in a way that is easy for her patients to understand, with the goal of making them feel as comfortable as possible. She enjoys interacting with and educating the community in any capacity to help raise awareness and understanding of gastrointestinal illnesses and to encourage preventative care such as screening colonoscopy.

Dr. Rya Kaplan did all her medical training at MUSC, including GI Fellowship, and has practiced gastroenterology in various areas of the Lowcountry. She is excited to come back to MUSC to provide gastrointestinal care to the Nexton/Summerville community, in close association with the Academic MUSC GI Division.
