Joshua Edison Payne, MD, MPH
Dr. Josh Payne is a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Medical University of South Carolina who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrythmias (heart rhythm disorders) such as ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, and atrial fibrillation. In addition to the medical management of these conditions, he also performs catheter ablation of arrythmias as well as the implantation and management of pacemakers and defibrillators.He received his undergraduate degree in microbiology, master's degree in public health, and medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. He completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma, fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Missouri,Clinical and research interests include mapping and ablation of ventricular tachycardia as well as cardiac resynchronization therapy and conduction system pacing.Dr. Payne understands that having cardiac arrythmias, especially those that are life threatening can be worrisome for patients and their loved ones. He practices patient centered care with an emphasis on patient education and shared decision making.
