Amber Star Egbert, OD
Dr. Amber Egbert is an Assistant Clinical Professor and works as a pediatric and general optometrist. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Egbert attended optometry school at the University of California Berkeley in Berkeley, CA, and was a Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society member. She then served on active duty as an Optometrist in the US Navy, completing tours in Great Lakes, IL, and Charleston, SC. Dr. Egbert earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2017 and completed her Primary Care and Ocular Disease residency at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL, in 2019. She also served as faculty at the Illinois College of Optometry.
Before becoming an Optometrist, Dr. Egbert worked as an elementary school teacher. Her experience with young children inspired her interest in pediatric optometry. She sees patients of all ages. Dr. Egbert provides comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, myopia control, dry eye therapy, ocular disease diagnosis and management, and more.
Dr. Egbert enjoys traveling, visiting South Carolina's beautiful beaches and parks, and strolling through historic Charleston. She resides in Ladson, SC, with her husband.
