Mark J. London, MD

Board-certified surgeon, Dr. Mark J. London joined the team at the MUSC Health - Orangeburg Dialysis Access Institute in 2017 and presently serves as a vascular access surgeon and the institute's medical director. Dr. London completed his medical degree at St. Matthews University School of Medicine before further honing his skills through a surgical internship and residency at the University of Chicago. Among his considerable contributions to the field, Dr. London's greatest impact perhaps lies in his dedication to research and innovation within dialysis access. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed articles, helping to advance understanding and knowledge in the changing landscape of dialysis care. Dr. London is also the Principal Investigator on numerous clinical trials with the aim of improving the techniques and devices used for dialysis access procedures. Furthermore, Dr. London and his team expend significant effort in training medical professionals from around the world. They deliver valuable lessons on dialysis procedures, devices, and equipment, as well as on types of dialysis accesses and interventions. His commitment not only to his patients but also to vascular access education signifies his conviction to improve patient outcomes both locally and globally. Dr. London was recently appointed to the faculty of MUSC as an affiliate assistant professor.
