Dr. Ben Kuhn is the MUSC Children's Health division chief and professor of pediatric gastroenterology. A native Pennsylvanian, Dr. Kuhn moved to New York for his undergraduate studies at Cornell University, with a focus on genetics and development. He attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by pediatric residency at the Penn State University Children's Hospital. Dr. Kuhn then completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Prior to joining MUSC Children's Health, Dr. Kuhn was at Geisinger in Pennsylvania for over a decade, where he was a pediatric gastroenterologist and served as a regional director of pediatrics for the system. Dr. Kuhn also chaired the pediatric patient experience committee. Dr. Kuhn specializes in allergic gastrointestinal conditions, specifically Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), and launched the MUSC Children's Health Center for Eosinophilic Disorders, where he serves as director. Having published numerous peer-reviewed articles on this topic and ongoing research contributions, Dr. Kuhn authored the North American Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) Society's board review textbook chapter on EoE. Dr. Kuhn adds that he enjoys collaborating with families to care for their children andwatching them grow into young adults over time.
