Savannah Faye Wawner, PA, MPAS

Savannah Faye Wawner, MSPAS, PA-C, is a physician assistant specializing in pediatric neurology at MUSC Children's Health. She joined the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Neurology after completion of an 18 month Pediatric Neurology Fellowship, with subspecialty training in outpatient and inpatient medicine. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, while completing the Institute of Primary Care Fellowship with South Carolina AHEC. Prior to her studies at MUSC, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance, while competing as a NCAA Division One Collegiate Athlete. She also has experience in health care as a patient care technician, a rehabilitation technician, and a medical assistant.Mrs. Wawner practices general pediatric neurology and manages a variety of pediatric conditions including epilepsy and seizures, migraine and headache disorders, sleep disorders, movement disorders, developmental delay and regression, abnormal head size, and other neurologic conditions in newborns. Her clinical interests include headache disorders, syncope, tic disorders, non-epileptic seizures, and developmental delay.Mrs. Wawner believes in patient and family centered care. She practices with a collaborative approach to patient care, consulting with additional specialists when warranted, and with the goal of education and open communication with her patients. She takes pride in her emphasis on considering each patient's individual diagnoses, wellness, culture, and family dynamics. Her extensive and diverse clinical training allows her to manage patients with complex conditions and she enjoys continuing to learn daily from the variety of unique patient needs seen in the pediatric neurology setting.
