Dr. Sudhakar completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at Beth Israel/Lahey health system in Burlington, Massachusetts. She moved on to do a fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at University of Massachusetts/Baystate medical center. She then moved to Southern Mississippi to work in an underserved area for three years as an endocrinologist. Having done her Medical School training in India, she has always enjoyed treating patients in the low socio-economic status and working with their insurance to get them on the best available treatment option.
As an endocrinologist, she treats patients with Diabetes, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders and osteoporosis. She also performs ultrasound guided thyroid nodule biopsies.
With the advent of technology in the world of Diabetes, she educates her patients about the latest technology in the field and also the new therapeutic options. She believes in patient-centered care and makes informed decisions with patients.
