David Sherwin, MD

David Sherwin, M.D. is an energetic family medicine physician practicing MUSC Health – Primary Care in Darlington, SC. Originally born and raised on the Great Lakes in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, he attended the University of Western Ontario in London ON. This is where he majored in Biology, then received his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine in the Dutch Caribbean. He completed his residency training in Rural Family Medicine in Bangor, ME, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He is board certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Sherwin takes on health and wellness from a very relatable and down-to-earth perspective by considering each patient's individual needs, abilities, and limitations. Among the many aspects of medicine that he enjoys; he has a special interest in the prevention and treatment of obesity and its' related conditions (diabetes, hypertension etc) as well as performing minor procedures e.g. lumps/bumps removals, skin biopsies, toe nail removals, cryotherapy etc. ,Dr. Sherwin currently lives with his golden retrievers, Baloo and Nala, in Florence SC. In his spare time, he enjoys playing with his dogs, working out, playing sports, eating chicken wings or burgers, watching movies on his favorite streaming service, listening to podcasts and reading novels.
