George Sipa Yankey, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Yankey grew up in Accra, Ghana before moving after high school to Cleveland, OH. He attended Case Western Reserve University, where he received both his undergraduate degree and his medical degree. Afterwards, he decided to journey to North Carolina where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency, General Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Duke University. His last stop in training was for a Structural Cardiology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and General Cardiology and is board-eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
He performs cardiac catheterizations to diagnose/treat coronary artery disease as well as minimally invasive heart valve replacement/repair procedures such as TAVR and Mitraclip. He also enjoys performing other structural heart procedures like Watchman or ASD/PFO closures. His clinical interests include coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease and structural heart disease.
