Brittney Buchanan, CRNA

Brittney Buchanan, DNP-A, CRNA is a board-certified nurse anesthetist at MUSC Health Columbia. She graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Anesthesia (DNP-A) from Texas Christian University with honors. She completed her clinical training at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, TX providing anesthesia services to the rural community. The aim of her doctoral research focused on the prevention of postoperative delirium in susceptible patients. A native of Columbia, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of South Carolina in 2015, and began her nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Prisma Health. In addition, she has previously worked as a Registered Nurse in multiple other critical care specialties including the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU), Progressive Cardiac Unit (PCU), and the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). She is a current member of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). Her primary goal is to utilize her anesthesia knowledge along with her nursing background to provide safe, quality, and compassionate care to patients throughout the perioperative period.
