James Theodore Holler, III, PA-C, is a dedicated health care professional passionate about providing exceptional patient care and contributing to his community. With a diverse educational background and extensive training, James brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as a Physician Assistant (PA).
James began his journey in health care by earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Exercise Science from the College of Charleston. He furthered his education at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, where he graduated from the College of Health Professions with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
James completed rigorous clinical rotations at MUSC in various medical specialties, including Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Mental Health, and Emergency Medicine. These rotations gave him a comprehensive understanding of patient care across different disciplines and settings.
James's core competencies include his ability to provide compassionate care, commitment to active listening, and proficiency in conducting thorough medical assessments and developing effective treatment plans. He prioritizes patient education and ensures that individuals fully understand their conditions and treatment options.
James holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), demonstrating his commitment to patient safety and quality care. James serves as a Physician Assistant in the Emergency Department at MUSC Health Chester Medical Center and MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center. He provides timely and efficient care to patients in critical situations.
Prior to his current role, James gained valuable experience as a Physician Assistant in Otolaryngology and Ophthalmology at Aspen Valley Hospital in Aspen, CO. There, he played a pivotal role in establishing a new practice, managing acute patient encounters and building solid relationships with local physicians.
Outside of his clinical work, James has been actively involved in his community, volunteering with organizations such as Smiles for Life and Junior Doctors of Health. He is a member of professional associations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
