She believes in working collaboratively with the patient and with other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary transplant team.

Dr. Rice completed undergraduate studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina and then her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. This program provides a robust transplant and HPB experience focusing on preoperative, operative, and postoperative care in pediatric and adult patients. Her training included the development of a robotic donor nephrectomy program and experience with normothermic deceased donor liver machine perfusion. Upon completion of fellowship, Dr. Rice joined MUSC as an assistant professor of surgery in the Transplant Surgery Division.
