Suzanne Elizabeth Kerns, MBBS, MD
Dr. Suzanne Kerns is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Kerns completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She attended medical school at the University of Sydney - Australia, followed by general psychiatry residency at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a year long fellowship in Brain Stimulation at MUSC.Dr. Kerns has experience treating patients with a variety of neuromodulation techniques including ECT, TMS, DBS, and VNS, both clinically and in research trials. Her special interests include developing the use of brain stimulation for traditionally treatment resistant conditions, expanding the use of brain stimulation within women's mental health, and holistic and integrative approaches to brain health.
