Penny Perez is a certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has a passion for trauma, surgical, and critical care patients. She obtained her associate degree in Nursing in 2004 and bachelor's degree in nursing science from the University of Louisianna at Lafayette in 2017. As an RN she gained experience in trauma, critical care, neuro trauma, neurology, and neurosurgical patients at the Medical University of South Carolina. As an RN in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit, she obtained her CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) and TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse) certifications. She served in many leadership roles in the ICU. She obtained her Master's in Nursing Science from the University of South Carolina in May of 2020. She has been working with the Department of Acute Care Surgery since August of 2020 as a Nurse Practitioner.
