Michael Duane Frye, MD
Dr. Michael Frye is an associate professor of medicine in the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine. He graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1983 and after finishing internal medicine residency went on to complete a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of South Carolina in 1988. Dr. Frye is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and sleep medicine. He has been a faculty member at MUSC for 16 years and is the medical director of the medical university hospital sleep center. He enjoys teaching sleep medicine to residents and fellows who enroll in his sleep medicine elective.He continues to practice pulmonary and critical care medicine but sleep medicine is his main area of clinical interest and accounts for the majority of his clinical and research activity. His current research deals with auto-titrating continuous positive airway pressure for treatment of clinically diagnosed severe obstructive sleep apnea.
