Mark Allen Stacy, MD

Mark Stacy is a Neurologist with subspecialty training in Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders. He is a 1986 graduate of University of Missouri School of Medicine, completed a residency at Hahnemann (Drexel) University and fellowship in Movement Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine. His faculty appointments have been at University of Missouri, Barrow Neurological Institute (Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center) and Duke University. At Duke he also served as Vice Dean for Clinical Research. Before arriving at MUSC, Stacy was the Dean of Brody School of Medicine and Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences at East Carolina University. He also completed a sabbatical in Human Motor Control in Dr. Mark Hallett's laboratory at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Stacy has a more than 30 years of experience in caring for people with Parkinson's Disease and Parkinsonian disorders, Tremor, Dystonia and other movement disorders. He has published more than 200 manuscripts and the textbook, Handbook of Dystonia. His research has focused on Impulse Control Disorders and Wearing Off in Parkinson Disease. He has served as Editor of the Movement Disorders Society Newsletter: Moving Along and is currently an Associate Editor for the journal: Movement Disorders.
