Katherine Nicole Frichette, DNP, BSN

Katherine Frichette is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who sees patients full time at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Utah, and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Vermont. Early in her career, Dr. Frichette worked as a psychiatric registered nurse treating children and adolescents with complex mental health conditions in a school and residential setting. She later moved on to working in the psychiatric hospital setting, treating patients of all ages. Following graduation with her doctoral degree, Dr. Frichette transitioned to working in an outpatient psychiatry clinic treating adolescents, adults, and older adults with various mental health conditions.

Clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis, ADHD, adolescent mental health, maternal mental health, and substance use disorders. Dr. Frichette utilizes a person-centered approach in her treatment, and welcomes clients of all different backgrounds.
