Dr. Deeksha Jandhyala is a transplant infectious diseases specialist. She completed her internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and went on to complete an immunocompromised infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. During her time in Houston, Dr. Jandhyala specialized in infections relating to stem cell transplantation, hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. She then did a sub-specialty fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in solid organ transplant infectious diseases. This fellowship was specifically focused on infections in heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas and left ventricular assist device recipients.Dr. Jandhyala also has experience managing patients with newly-diagnosed and chronic HIV, viral hepatitis (Hepatitis A, B, and C), and tuberculosis. She enjoys providing pre-travel counseling to international travelers and has participated as a consultant in travel clinics. She is double board certified in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine.Dr. Jandhyala's primary research interests include left ventricular assist device infections and antimicrobial stewardship practices in the immunocompromised host. She has presented her research in national and international meetings. She has interest in volunteering her time in free clinics &- especially those taking care of international refugees who have infectious complications.
