Christine Melnyk Litwin, MD

Dr. Christine M. Litwin is a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist with nationally recognized expertise in clinical immunology and molecular microbiology. Her research is focused in the area of emerging infectious diseases and the development and evaluation of laboratory diagnostic assays. She has published over 90 scientific papers and book chapters, is on several national committees, and serves as a co-editor of the American Society for Microbiology Manual of Molecular and Clinical Immunology. Prior to coming to MUSC Health, Dr. Litwin was interim chief of the division of clinical pathology in 2014 and the director of clinical immunology and microbiology at Georgia Regents University from 2011 to 2014. She served as the director of microbial immunology and the associate director of immunology at the University of Utah from 1993 to 2010. She received her fellowship training at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and her medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis.
