Anthony Duane Poole, PA

Anthony Poole is a family medicine Physician Assistant who has been treating adult and pediatric patients in South Carolina since his graduation from MUSC's PA Program in 2009. He has spent most of his early career focused on rural health and providing care to underserved communities across the state. He is passionate about health equity and ensuring that all patients receive high quality healthcare regardless of their background, race, financial status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. He enjoys being a part of a multidisciplinary care team that treat patients with dignity and respect. Clinically, he focuses on preventing chronic disease through lifestyle and behavior changes and involves patients in their plan of care. He strives to control patient's chronic conditions through evidence-based treatment plans and ensures patients are properly screened for cancer and other chronic diseases according to the most up to date guidelines. Anthony was recognized as the South Carolina Provider of the Year in 2020 by the SC Primary Health Care Association and as one of Charleston's Forty Under 40 Professionals in 2020. He is currently enrolled in a doctoral program through the University of Lynchburg and will graduate with his Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree in September 2022 with additional graduate certificates in Clinical Administrative Leadership and Executive Leadership.

In addition to his clinical duties, Mr. Poole also serves as MUSC's System Director for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement. In this role, he works under the leadership of MUSC's Chief Quality Officer to ensure that all patients at MUSC receive high quality healthcare services in an environment that is safe and patient centered.
