Amanda Faye Northup, MD
Dr. Amanda Northup is an adult cardiologist. She earned her undergraduate degree at UNC Chapel Hill, followed by medical school, internal medicine residency, and cardiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is now an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology, and is the medical director of MUSC's Cardiac Rehab. She is board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and internal medicine. Dr. Northup's clinical interests include all aspects of cardiovascular disease, but in particular, cardiac imaging and women's cardiovascular health. She also has an interest in medical informatics, and is a certified Epic Physician Builder. One of Dr. Northup's goals is to make medical technology and electronic health records more efficient,FALSE, allowing providers to spend more quality time with patients. She is passionate about patient education and prevention, especially regarding women's cardiovascular health, as heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women in the United States.
